Like many of you know, dentists recommend going into the dental office every six months for routine dental checkups. These appointments are extremely beneficial for your oral health, but dentists also need your help at home. When you wake up in the morning and before you go to bed, dentists strongly recommend doing the following things:
• Bush your teeth: If you brush your teeth for 2 minutes every morning and every night, the access food and bacteria will be washed away. Thoroughly brush every tooth, and spend an equal amount of time cleaning each quadrant of your mouth. To improve the chances of a strong oral health, use fluoride toothpaste.
• Floss your teeth: If you floss your teeth once a day, you are on the right track. Use 45 cm of floss and floss between every tooth in your mouth, including your back teeth. By wrapping each end of floss around your finger and gently lowering it between your teeth, you will release any food or particles that are stuck. Please make sure to use a separate section of floss or a new strong of floss between each tooth.
• Use mouthwash: After you brush and floss your teeth, rinse your mouth with beneficial mouthwash, like fluoride or bacteria-fighting rinse. Sip a small amount of wash into your mouth and swish it around for 30-40 seconds. When the time is up, spit the liquid out into the sink.
