There is a wide array of oral hygiene products on the market today. Some of them are high quality and they deserve to be included in your daily oral hygiene routine. Others are not as effective or are only intended for cosmetic reasons, like whitening your teeth.
In 1931, the American Dental Associated initiated their Seal of Acceptance program to better help consumers identify the most effective oral hygiene products that are worthy of purchase. Since that time, the ADA Seal has become the standard for participating manufacturers.
The process of earning the ADA seal of acceptance is voluntary. Before a manufacturer launches a new oral hygiene product, they can submit it to the ADA for testing and research. The product’s active ingredients are rigorously tested and applied to strict guidelines for safety and effectiveness.
If the product meets all of the rigorous guidelines, it will be approved and the Seal of Acceptance to be printed on the label.
